LAHORE: A joint meeting of the Gold Art Promotion Council-Pakistan and Lahore Division Sarafa and Jewellers Association was held on January 25, 2008, to inform various presidents of jewellers associations of Lahore about the tour of Europe.

On this occasion, the presidents of various jewellers associations of Lahore appreciated the efforts of Gold Art Promotion Council-Pakistan for the promotion of exports of the gem and jewellery sector of the country along with breaking the monopoly of the Gem & Jewellery Developing Company.

Later, the meeting elected Rana Muhammad Asghar and Syed Masood Ali, General Secretary, respectively for the Gold Art Promotion Council-Pakistan for the next term. The remaining cabinet will be announced the two soon.

Speaking on the occasion, both the newly elected office-bearers of the council vowed to work for the welfare of the jewellers’ community and solve their problems.
