GGAPC-Pakistan given status of SWOG member
LAHORE, March 31,2006: The Small and Medium Enterprise Development Authority (SMEDA) has nominated Gold Art Promotion Council-Pakistan (GAPC-Pakistan), a representative organization of the jewellers community of Pakistan, member of Strategic Working Group (SWOG) from Lahore.
In a letter written to the President, Gold Art Promotion Council-Pakistan, Muhammad Ahmad, Farrukh Mehboob Khan, Manager, Gems & Jewellery Sector, SMEDA, acknowledged the services rendered by the GAPC-Pakistan along with its parent organization, Lahore Division Sarafa and Jewellers Association for the cause of the jewellers community.
While lauding the services rendered by the GAPC-Pakistan, Farrukh Khan termed the Council as one of the most important parts of the development taking place in the jewellery sector, which has been declared as industry in the Trade Policy-2005.
Moreover, the SMEDA Manager expressed his confident that the cooperation from the GAPC-Pakistan side will go a long way in the formation of an effective and authentic strategy document for the gems and jewellery industry.
